Speaker, Mike Sitland, joined the Canadian Payroll Association in 1994. Mike first served as a volunteer to the Communications Committee in 1996 and later served as both Deputy Director and Director of the same committee.  Mike has also been involved Federal Government indicatives as a member of the Federal Government Relations Advisory Council.

Mike joined the Board of Directors of the Canadian Payroll Association in 2000. He has served a liaison to the Board for Provincial Government Relations and moved forward to the Executive Committee in 2002. His responsibilities on the Executive have included the positions of Treasurer, Vice Chairman, and Chairman. His current position with the Association is in the role of Past Chairman.

Mike graduated from Saint Mary’s University in Halifax Nova Scotia with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in 1978.He has worked for the Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation since 1977, spent eight years in the retail division, then another six years as Supervisor of Accounting, two years as Staff Development officer and for the past eleven years as Supervisor of Payroll Operations.
