Year End 2003. This includes such items as
Year End Preparation, Legislative updates, Taxation of Fringe Benefits,
Annual Changes, review the W-2 form and W-2 tie out procedures.
Speaker Karen Klein, CPP
is currently the Payroll Tax Consultant for the U of M. Among other
duties, she tracks federal and state legislative developments impacting
payroll operations, oversees Federal and State tax reporting compliance,
assumes responsibility for University wide communications regarding
matters of federal and state tax payroll policies and procedural changes,
Foreign National tax issues and employment authorizations, and W-2/1042S
year-end reporting.
Speaker Terry Meggitt, CPP
is the Payroll Coordinator for HealthPartners, employing over 9,000
employees, most in the Twin Cities metro area. Terry has work for
HealthPartners for 12 years. Terry is a member of the Northstar Chapter
of the American Payroll Association; including the APA Northstar Chapter
Male Member of the Year for 2002. He received his CPP Certification in
the fall of 1995 and has been serving the Northstar Chapter memberships
since 1996 coordinating and leading CPP/FPC study groups resulting in
hundreds obtaining their CPP certification and now the FPC certification.
Terry was recently honored at 2003 APA Congress with the Donald W
Sharper Education Grant.
Speaker Dominique Palks, CPP
is currently a Project Manager and Operations Analyst focusing on payroll
reporting for Medtronic, Inc. She has been with Medtronic for 8 years and
has held various payroll related positions within the Human Resource
Operations Center over the past 4-½ years. Dominique received a BA in
Accounting from St Cloud State University in the spring of 2001 and
obtained her CPP certification in the spring of 2002. She began teaching
CPP study classes through Century College in January of 2003.
Speaker Barb Muellerleile, CPP
has over 16 years of payroll, payroll tax and benefits experience. She has
an accounting background from Minnesota State University-Mankato. She is
a member of our North Star chapter board serving as the Program Chair.
Barb currently is the Director of the Payroll team at Regis Corporation
to service over 45,000 employees in the US, Canada and the UK at over
9,000 locations. She has worked with payrolls of multiple Federal ID
numbers, extensively with year-end tax reporting, system set up and
implementation, acquisitions and much more. She has held previous
payroll and benefits management positions for Land O Lakes Inc. and Taylor
Corporation.
