3rd Place in the Nation for the Northstar Chapter!
We are very pleased to announce that we were awarded 3rd place for
our 2005 Chapter of the Year submission by the National APA at the
Annual Congress! This is truly a great honor for us, as it is
a highly competitive contest with a large number of the 115 local
APA chapters from around the country participating. 1st place
was awarded to the Susquehanna Valley Chapter this year, and the 2nd
place award went to the Denver Chapter.
This
recognition is a tribute to all of our active members and our
activities in promoting the payroll profession in our community.

Calculating
Paychecks
A Hands-On Course for Chapter
Members
Chapter members and their
colleagues who are entry level payroll practitioners, new to
payroll, or need a “refresher” on the basics of payroll
could greatly benefit from APA’s new Calculating
Paychecks course. In this information-packed one-day
class, attendees will obtain a better understanding of
payroll basics as they tackle hands-on exercises covering
the fundamental payroll rules, procedures, and calculations
required to create accurate paychecks.
Anyone responsible for
payroll compliance should not miss this exciting new
program, which will be conveniently held in 20 cities in
March, including March 18th
in Minneapolis. The Calculating Paychecks course
is the key to maintaining your organization’s efficiency and
compliance with federal and state tax and employment
regulations. Inaccurate paychecks decrease your payroll
department’s productivity and increase noncompliance
penalties.
This course is also a
perfect preparatory class for the Fundamental Payroll
Certification (FPC) exam!
Chapter members who register
for the one-day Calculating Paychecks course will
immediately boost their job performance, increase their
department’s efficiency, and maintain compliance in their
companies.
