The Northstar chapter’s community outreach effort for the Summer is the Breast Cancer 3-Day walk.  Two of our own board members, Robin Murphy CPP and Karen Klein CPP, will actually be participating in this important event!

They intend to walk 60 miles over the course of three days with thousands of other women and men. The net proceeds will support breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment through the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and the National Philanthropic Trust.

According to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, approximately 200,000 American women will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year, and nearly 40,000 will die from the disease.

Not only will Robin and Karen be walking a great deal, but they’ve also been asked to raise a minimum of $2,000 each in sponsorships.  Robin has actually already met her pledge goal, but we’re asking if you’d consider supporting Karen in her fundraising efforts.  All donations made by chapter members will be matched dollar for dollar by the chapter!  Click here for the link to her personal web page.  You can donate online or print a donation form and designate the amount that's right for you.  Please keep in mind how far Karen and Robin are walking -- and how hard they’ll have to train.
