Board Meeting Minutes - February 15, 2001

Meeting called to order at 9:20 a.m.

ATTENDEES:  Eleanor Falk, Jeff Goldenberg, Robin Malik-Swisher, Teri McCaleb, Denice McMahon, Marge Olson, & Rick Seifert. 

Conference materials have been requested by Marla Haley so that the 2001 conference planning can begin.  Denice will call Elise to have materials returned.

Robin mentioned that Jerry Henneck  will be available to help the board in whatever capacity is needed.   Thanks, Jerry!

Rick brought up that for 2001, board members will pay for monthly meetings but will have free membership for the year.

Denice will work with Joel Baglien to have 2001 Northstar Chapter meeting dates on the web site.

The board discussed meeting topics through July.  Topics are as follows:

March: Time & Attendance Panel,  April:  Expatriates Payroll & Domestic Relocation

May:  Qualified Compensation Pension Plan

bullet

June:  Electronic filing of Child Support

bullet

July:  Business Meeting – Possibly have someone from Sharing & Caring Hands speak.

Jeff will check with Linda Obertin regarding presenting a meeting on Int’l payroll.

The board would like to receive input from members regarding meeting topics.  The March registration will include a note to think about what topics people want to have discussed.  Flipchart paper will be put on all tables at the March meeting & each table must come up with one topic. 

The board also wants to get feedback from members regarding meetings.  At the March meeting evaluation forms will be put on all of the tables for members to complete.

Rick mentioned how costly the Proxima equipment was to rent from the Metropolitan.  Jeff will research prices and get back to the board in March.

Rick also brought up if the board would like to have an out state meeting in Rochester for those members.  Robin will review.

The board also discussed quarterly community outreach programs.  It was decided that next month the chapter will collect donations for the March of Dimes.  Robin will be walking.  July will be Sharing & Caring Hands and October will be the Minnesota Food Shelf.

The board positions that are currently open are the Communications Director.  The committee member positions open are:  National Payroll Week, Chapter of the Year, Newsletter, and the Web site.   The Communications Director will oversee committee members who will be responsible for National Payroll Week, Chapter of the Year, the Web Site, and the Newsletter.  If anyone is interested in any of these positions, please contact a board member.  Denice will talk with Joel to have Volunteer information added to the web site.

Board positions that will be open in August are:  Vice-President, Treasurer,  Membership Chair, Program Chair. 

Robin will be contacting the board members to set a date to meet on updating the 5 Year Plan.
