This session on documentation includes the types, why we should do it, how to approach it, what should be included, rules for writing/organization, and maintenance. We will also share some examples of actual documentation.


E.  HR Lean - Process Improvements
Workshop Leader:  Jaynie Atanasoff

The definition of Lean is: A continuous approach to delivering customer-defined value in a process or value stream that eliminates waste.  The benefits of operating in a lean environment are:

bulletvalue-creating results to lower cost and improve quality,
bulletsatisfied customers (internal and external),
bulletengaged employees working in a teaming environment, and
bulletfewer problems and faster processing.

F.  Understanding the New Sarbanes-Oxley Requirements
Workshop Leader:  Linda Obertin, CPP

The Sarbanes-Oxley Act's main objective is to "protect investors by improving the accuracy and reliability of corporate disclosures." Do you have the appropriate documentation and internal controls in your financial reporting to comply with this new law? This session will provide general information about the act and discuss the impact of this new legislation on the payroll department and how to comply.
