bulletStress
bulletDefining your stress - What it means to you
bulletDo 3 cups of coffee, two donuts and a little candy really increase my stress?
bulletDo you wonder who's in charge of your life. Did I really say I would do that?
bulletAssumptions:
bulletWho me? "Talk to myself".
bulletListening is a "response-ability"
bulletI can quit doing this anytime - I think!
bulletUsing our imagination or "far side".
bulletMindfulness
bulletWho came up with the idea of multi-tasking anyway?
bulletYour demands, my priorities - shall we dance?
bulletWhen cutting off your nose to spite your face make sure you're right and other ideas for stressing effectively.
bulletBreathing
bulletHow long before I turn blue?
bulletDoes air really belong in my torso?
bulletHow lying down on the job can be productive

Did you know that people under stress eat more sugar? That's why "Stressed" spelled backwards is "Desserts"!

Kathleen Henry

Kathleen Henry has been a consultant and small business owner for the past 20 years. Kathleen works daily with people who are challenged by the opportunities that change presents. Our capacity for change requires the use of both left and right brain skills, with the left brain processing linear functions and the right providing social skills and emotion.  Understanding these differences allows people to accept change as an opportunity.

An outline of Kathleen's presentations is included in the column to the left.

E. HR / PR / IT Teams Working Together

This session will focus on specific actions that HR, payroll, and IT people can take to work more effectively with people from the other two departments.  These ideas can be effective even when those "other" people are unreasonable and (can you believe it?) don't want to see things your way.

Elliott Witkin is a project manager for Tesseract, a leading provider of HR and payroll solutions.  He has over 20 years experience in the HR systems field, as both a practitioner and vendor.  During that time, he has participated in and managed numerous system implementations at organizations of all sizes, and in multiple industries.  In addition to project management, he has extensive experience in system training.  He holds a bachelors degree in psychology, and a masters degree in education.  He is a frequently published author in professional and general circulation journals and has written The Back Page column in IHRIM.link since 1994.  He has been a member of IHRIM since 1984.  He lives in Champaign, Illinois with his wife and two children.

Portals why do you need one?

The world wide web has become a key strategy for companies to interact with their employees. Today, portal technology can leverage this powerful channel enabling companies to enhance communication within the company, lower their costs of delivering benefit information, and create more self service applications. This presentation focuses on what companies can expect from a business to employee portal and a short demonstration of a fortune 500 company's implementation of it's employees portal.
